Excellent book about AAC methods in UK: Why are we afraid of AAC?


Here you can find information about what is communication and what is typical language development. The diversity of the AAC population is described and also atypical language development and acquired disorders. Good content is also in no-tech, low-tech and light-tec AAC part. Pages 1-68 is suitable for all.

Later parts are more technical and demanding. They will be good for speech therapists and teachers and other AAC professionals. There is contents about high-tech AAC, alternative access and mounting and aided language stimulation. There is also excellent path about AAC assessment and starting out with AAC in early years, school, secondary school, further education, university and at last in work and independent living.
