Easy language is spoken or written specific form of language. It is one of the AAC-methods that you can use with persons who have challenges in communication.
Term easy language (easy-to-read language) refer to a simple form of language, used for communication with user groups:
a) people with disabilities
b) immigrants
c) people with memory disorders.
Professionals can study it and learn at least in basic level. Written and spoken languages have forms that can have different levels as a language.
Easy language is a literary style that is easy-to-read because it matches the reading skill of the audience.
The core vocabulary consists of about 300 known cross-translatable words. These include simple meanings such as:
people, do, say, want, good, bad, when, where, men, women, children, hands, mouth, water, mother, father, money and doctor.
